Margaret Chandler grew up in Western MA number 5 of 10 children.  The sixth child, Lizzie was profoundly developmentally disabled with no speech, no self care skills, no impulse control and no safety awareness, but an effervescent vessel of life energy, bubbling over.  a challenge to say the least.  As years passed, along with her Mom, Margaret became her primary care giver. 

Spending time with someone who couldn’t tell you what they wanted or what was wrong helped Margaret to develop a great observational skills and a sense of “knowing".  Thus started Margaret’s career in Nursing early on in 1977.  Lizzie lived until age 43 and Margaret looks back on the time she spent with Lizzie, and feels lucky to have known and loved such an extraordinary individual.  “She made me who I am today.”  A patient nurturer and an excellent  diagnostician.

Psychiatric nursing became her niche area, working many years at Mount Sinai Hospital NYC, but Margaret has done nursing in physical Rehab, Orthopedics, Hospice, Home Care, Med-Surg, Corporate & Camp nursing.

Margaret loves NYC and has a great passion for the Arts.  She dabbled in Acting and had a one woman Comedy Show.

Margaret is no stranger to pain, a lover of sports, with her first significant injury age 12, a bad bike accident, followed by skateboarding & skiing bash ups…  Osteoarthritis is a familial trait and everyone in the family has it. Margaret jokes that she is disintegrating, and her sister who is 7 years older, is an inch away from being a pile of dust.  

Margaret has been interested in and has used numerous Holistic methods to treat her pain including, Chiropractic, Acupuncture, Massage, Reiki, Rolfing, Rife frequencies, Homeopathic's, Magnets, Herbs and Nutritional supplements… and now The Healy Device. “They work synergistically and keep me going.” Margaret still rides her bike in NYC.
